Grey gelding born May 2008, by Amiro Z out of Ballykett Blue Diamond
Chip was sired by the uniquely bred young Zangersheide stallion, Amiro Z. Amiro Z is by an Argentinean Thoroughbred show jumper, Amigo Toss, who descends directly from the dam of Le Sancy, and combines the excellent sporting blood of both Buckpasser (Tom Fool), and Lefty, the sire of several international show jumpers. The dam of Amiro Z is Renommee Z, who competed at the Atlanta Olympics, and is a full sister to the legendary Ratina Z. Amiro Z has been very successful in his young horse classes, and has produced the 6th placed colt and 9th-placed filly foal at the 2008 Zangersheide Festival, a good result for his first year at stud.
Chip's dam is our ISH mare, Ballykett Blue Diamond - whose pedigree speaks for itself. Beth's sire, Able AlbertXX, has sired several international level eventers; Mark Kyle is currently successfully competing Willow Fairgreen Attraction at Advanced level in the UK. Able Albert’s line includes many of the TB all-time greats, including Owen Tudor, Hyperion and Nearco. His sire, Abwah, was the offspring of the “greatest British sprinter of the 20th Century” Abernant, and brother to Abgar, a major jumping sire in Dutch breeding.
Beth’s dam, Ballykett Lass, was by the RID stallion Diamond Lad, well known in Ireland as being an excellent broodmare sire, and himself the offspring of the great King of Diamonds. Ballykett Lass was also the dam of Advance Party, successfully shown by Katie Jerram in the UK.
Chip has already demonstrated his jumping talent by jumping over a 4’6” farm gate out of his field on one occasion recently! He is growing into an elegant, blood type, with a ground-covering gallop, and strong correct limbs. Our plan for him at the moment is to bring him on and produce him under saddle as a 3 to 4 year old, at which point he will be offered for sale : but we would be happy to talk to you if you are interested in viewing him before then.
