Long-limbed very correct colt foal, will be grey, to make 16.2hh. Teo already has an impressive elevated trot, and he is showing his aptitude for eventing with a ground-covering gallop! He has excellent conformation, with a strong shoulder and powerful quarters.
Teo has a bold, friendly and very trainable temperament, and is well handled, standing well for his feet to be picked out, and for the farrier, and he is learning to lead quietly alongside his handler.
He is out of a TB broodmare, Milebush Girl, (“Fena”), whose breeding is a strong one for producing eventers; her full brother, Matthew Muroto, has successes on the track, and her back breeding contains many classic names in sport horse breeding. On the topline she carries Busted, Mill Reef and Abernant. On her damline she has Wolver Hollow, a prolific Stakes winner, and Grey Sovereign, as well as 2 x 2 Nasrullah.
Teo’s sire, Capitalist, who sadly died earlier this year, was a very successful international showjumper in his own right, winning and being placed in 78 international and national Grand Prix during his career. He has sired a number of international showjumpers, including Campino, who has over 50 international placings. His pedigree is a roll-call of the greats – his sire, Capitol I, was one of the most successful sport horse sires in recent times, and has been hugely influential in Holstein pedigrees. His damsire, the TB Sacramento Song, is described in Dr. Dietrich Rossow's Stallion Book of the Holsteiner Warmblood Breed as: "A classically bred, English Thoroughbred, with beautiful, smoothly harmonious topline”. As a private stallion he was only sparingly used by the Holstein breeders to their later regret. By 1990 with progeny earnings of DM696,000 he was the 8th most successful post-war Thoroughbred sire in Germany! Sacramento Song had 31 competitors with placings, 29 of which were showjumpers. After his death three exceptional sons were licensed on the grounds of their competition results: Sympatico, Sacramento Son and Sandro.
With his pedigree and potential, Teo is a very genuine stallion prospect, not least because he is from the crop of foals that were the last breedings of a great stallion, Capitalist, and looks good to carry on the flame in his own right!
